The Appearances are four scarily talented and ruggedly handsome musicians who were in no way involved in the writing of this bio. Their high-energy live rock and roll show has sent sonic shockwaves through their hometown of Columbus, Ohio, rumored to have precipitated Coriolis force and a convergence of heat lightning and gravity wind that caused tropical-force storms as far north as Lake Erie, when they last performed.
No one was injured.
In a material world, the appearances can, and often do deceive, but The Appearances always tell the truth. They love each other and they love you.
Tony Timperman
Dan Harris
Singer and guitarist, Tony Timperman, and lead guitarist, Daniel Harris, set forth on their shared creative path when they were but university students in unwitting search of creative synergy, honing their craft in dorm rooms and friends’ flats, prefab practice spaces and unfinished basements.
One such basement belonged to space-age bass innovator, producer/sound engineer (and drinking buddy), Eric French.
There, synergy was realized, although it would take a few years (and continual adulation) until Harris and Timperman were able to lure “The French” into the mix. At that point, a great ROCK began being chiseled, but alas it would not roll.

Anthony Codispoti
INT – REHEARSAL SPACE – NIGHT
Enter, from stage sideways, Anthony Codispoti, a filmmaker friend of Tony’s whose rhythmic stylings on the drums evoke Ringo, Moonie, Karen Carpenter, Animal dressed liked Bonham coming undone on The Muppets.
They jammed, agreed one would be Anthony, the other Tony, telephoned Daniel and Eric, and ROLL was added to the mix, and The Appearances were born.
